Matt Lucas will not return to the tent.
The British comedian, who presented The great British pastry fair next to Christmas Fielding since 2020, succeeding Sandi Toksvigannounced his departure from the cooking competition series on December 6. Although Matt said he had a “delightful experience” filming The great British pastry fairhe explained that another opportunity forced him away from the show.
“It has become clear to me that I cannot present both fantasy football league and Pastry shop alongside all my other projects,” he wrote on Twitter. “So after three series and 51 episodes, I am happily passing the baton to someone else.”
After thanking the cast and crew, including his co-host Noel and the judges Paul Hollywood and Prue LeithMatt shared that he was excited to tune into the next chapter “without already knowing who won.”
