After officially winning the title of Bundesliga last weekend, Bayern Munich returned to the Allianz Arena to say goodbye to Thomas Müller in his last home game. The pre-match and post-match festivities focused only on Thomas Müller, who smiled like the cat of the Cheshire all night, and his incredible heritage with the Rekordmeister.
The game itself seemed to be a formality when Bayern marked early and played at a slower rate during most of the match. Bayern held a 2-0 victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach to move in the six goals in the record of most goals during a season of Bundesliga, run by the 1971/72 Bayern team.
Jersey Swap: Franck Honorat
Honorat took advantage of Raphaël Guerreiro several times by pressing on the left flank, beating a Leon Goretzka reactive to the local flag and sending effective crosses. Honorat succeeded in five key passes tonight, just behind Michael Olise (six). Honorat will be disappointed to put an end to his two game sequence, but Gerardo Seoane will be very satisfied with the recent form of the French winger.
Bonus (via @imiasanmia): no current active Bundesliga player has won more games against Bayern than Nico Elvedi from Gladbach (7).
Der Kaiser: Manuel Neuer
It was appropriate that Neuer came back from his two -month injury fate to play with Müller in his last home game, even if Neuer did not concede the captain’s armband. Neuer was fantastic in shape with seven stops, 2.25 goals prevented and its 12th white leaf of the Bundesliga countryside.
Fußballgott: Leroy Sané
Sané entered the match in the 63rd minute and immediately changed the flow of the game. The help of Sané to Michael Olise in the 90th minute was really exceptional and he also marked almost a break in time.
Sané remains an enigma and this will probably be the reason why Bayern allows it to go free transfer this summer. In the same match, he can produce singular movements and then become a ghost.
Sané’s time in Bayern will always be considered a success, but he has always let fans ask him more.
Der Bomber: Michael Olise
Olise was the main creative threat to Bayern in the last third. Olise will only be credited for a decisive pass on the first goal, scored by Harry Kane. However, the individual olise effort built the whole sequence, and without the Kane’s film, it would probably have found itself at the back of the net anyway.
In the 90th minute, the calm finish of olise put the exclamation of the evening. Olise has exceeded all expectations this season and will be a crucial member of the heart of Bayern for the rest of the decade.

The legend played his last match at the Allianz Arena.
Müller did nothing spectacular today while Bayern fans sat on the edge of their seats, remembering all the wonderful memories that Müller has provided over the years and hoping for a single moment of brilliance.
In the 84th minute, Müller left the field to a standing ovation from his supporters and teammates. It was not as exciting as the 2019 Sendoff for Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, but it meant much more.
Müller may have been the least effective Bayern player on the field today, but no one has given the club in the past 25 years. Müller leaves the club with the German record of 750 appearances for a single club.
