Masters: I had my tickets canceled in a shocking case of stolen identity … and now I have been forbidden to attend Augusta National

Taking control of a coveted ticket to attend the masters is the dream of each golf fan, but for one, it quickly became a nightmare.

Josh Knauer, a social media user on X, revealed that he had managed to obtain a golden ticket – or, in this case, Green – to attend the first major championship of the year in Augusta National.

But what was supposed to be his entry into the cathedral of Pines quickly opened the doors of Golf Hell after a series of events of misfortune.

Knauer went to social networks on Monday to issue a desperate plea, sharing his tragic history alongside a photo of him radiating while he grabbed a Masters green ticket envelope.

He said he was supposed to be on the famous course alongside his wife, his brother and his friend this week, because the biggest names in the golf fought for the green jacket.

Knauer said he won tickets in the Masters 2025 lottery and paid them last July.

Josh Knauer, a social media user on X, said that he had canceled his master’s degree

Knauer said he had received an e-mail informing him that he had registered them for the resale

The leave for work had been approved, childcare and trips had been organized. He was ready to make the sacred pilgrimage.

But all of this changed on March 25 when he received an email from Augusta National with the bad news: his tickets had been canceled.

“It has come to our attention that you have listed your tickets for sale with a third party. According to Knauer, so be aware that your tickets have been canceled and your name has been deleted from future consideration.

Dailymail.com contacted Augusta National to comment.

The native of Southern Carolina said he was “finished” because he claimed to have no idea of the alleged situation.

“I have never sold and I would never sell mastery tickets. I had no idea what they were talking about-and I don’t do it yet, “he wrote. “I called the office and they confirmed the letter. They would not give me any information and told me that everything I could do was call by mail.

Knauer said that he had never shared online, or even among his own social circles, that he had won tickets at the lottery and as soon as they arrived, they had been hidden behind the lock and the key.

However, in order to restore the favor of the gods of golf, Knauer said that he had started his appeal – and it was then that things took a twist.

Scottie Scheffler will seek to defend his title to Augusta National this week

Knauer said he was supposed to be the prestigious golf course to watch the tournament

He said he had been informed of a false Facebook profile to his likeness, which has since been reported and deleted. He shared a screenshot of the alleged profile, showing that he had a friend on the social media platform and was a member of the page “The Golf Masters Tournament Tickets”.

“I had no knowledge of this profile, and I still have no idea how they knew that I had tickets. I do not know what their fraud plan was – since they did not have tickets physically or even a photo, “wrote Knauer.

“Heck, I don’t even know if it’s the source of the letter. I just guess.

In a desperate effort, he added the fraudulent profile to his call alongside text messages showing evidence of travel arrangements and even his tickets in the hope that this would stimulate his manifesto.

He allegedly alleged that he was personally going to Augusta National to deliver his call by hand, but two days before the tournament begins several phone calls and emails that are not in response.

“I understand the answer from their point of view – they believe that I have broken their rules,” admitted Knauer.

Knauer acknowledged that, at this stage of the masters’ week, his cause is lost. All he hopes for the moment is closure.

“At this stage, I clearly do not attend masters as originally planned,” wrote Knauer. “What is devastating, but a reality. I focus on the test to solve the misunderstandings and prove my innocence so that I can attend at one point in the future.

Knauer alleged that he had been informed of a false Facebook profile identifier the identity

“I think I did nothing wrong at any time – and even after receiving the letter, I tried to follow the call process only to hear anything. I know that this is the busiest period of the year for the club – but I really don’t understand why it all happened.

“Here is my plea to get help: if someone sees it and can help put my letter of appeal in good hands – I would like to have the conversation. I am an open book – I have nothing to hide and I just want the opportunity to prove innocence in a giant misunderstanding.

As a judge, jury and executioner, Augusta National is, naturally, diligent on access to its prestigious event – one of the most desired in sport.

In 2020, a man of Georgia was sentenced to more than two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a program that used stolen identities to obtain tickets for masters.

Federal prosecutors said that Stephen Michael Freeman from Athens and three family members in Texas had sold these tickets.

Prosecutors said that the family had used stolen identity documents from 2013-2017 to deceive the lottery system that distributes tournament tickets and to bypass the national Augusta rules allowing people to apply only once to enter their ticket lottery.
