Master P shares message of hope in New Orleans after ‘senseless’ terror attack: ‘We will overcome’

After a deadly terrorist attack rocks New Orleans, a rap legend offers a message of hope for the Louisiana city.

“We are not going to let this senseless act of terrorism stop us from being who we are as a culture and as a people. And we are going to stand up together, fight and show them that this is America and that we we will overcome.” “New Orleans entertainment ambassador Percy “Master P” Miller said Saturday on “One Nation.” “We have resilience when you talk about the city of New Orleans, and we’re going to bounce back.”

At least 14 people were killed and dozens more injured after a driver crashed a car into a large crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street in New Orleans early in the New Year.

The driver, 42 years old Shamsud-Din JabbarAmerican citizen from Texas and Army veteran, died following a shootout with officers.

“It’s definitely personal. And that’s why we stand up and we’re not afraid. And we’re not afraid. And our city is going to be even stronger. But for those who lost their lives, we we’re not. I’m going to forget them,” said Maître P.

More than 30 other people were injured. Although it had previously investigated the possibility of complicity in the attack, the FBI said it was convinced Jabbar acted alone.

The FBI recovered a black ISIS flag from Jabbar’s rented van that was used in the attack.
