Left organizations claim that more than 500,000 people should take to the streets to protest in Washington DC, Florida and elsewhere across the country on Saturday to oppose “the authoritarian agenda of Donald Trump and to support the billionaire”.

Moveon, one of the organizations planning the day of the protest, they call hands with dozens of working groups, environment and other progressive groups, said that more than 1,000 demonstrations were planned in the United States, including in state capitols.

“This promises to be the biggest demonstration of a day in recent years in American history,” said Ezra Levin, founder of indivisible, one of the groups that plan the event, during a recent organizational call.

“This is a national mobilization to stop the most cheeky power seizure in modern history,” explains the website of the event. “Trump, Musk and their billionaire friends orchestrate a total assault against our government, our economy and our fundamental rights – made in place by the congress at each stage.

“They want to strip America for parts – closing the social security offices, dismissing essential workers, eliminating consumer protections and avoiding Medicaid – all to finance their billionaire tax scam. They put our taxes, there is nothing left to save. ”

The demonstrations occur after the stock market fell this week after the announcement of the prices of April 1 by Trump. Despite the economic benefits, Trump said on Friday: “My policies will never change.”

Trump’s approval rating this week fell to 43%, its lowest since its entry into office, according to a Reuters survey.

After Trump was elected for the first time at the White House in 2016, at least 470,000 people – three times the size of the crowd during the inauguration of Trump – joined the demonstration of women’s march to Washington DC, and millions of others rallied across the country, making it the biggest protest of a day in American history.
