A pedestrian who was struck by a motorcycle in Monson and later pronounced dead has been identified as Tina Keeley, 56, of Monson, police said.
The motorcyclist, Devin Austin Crabb, 25, of Vernon, Connecticut, was wanted by police when he allegedly hit Keeley on Thursday evening near Monson’s Free Library on the High Street. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Wing Hospital by the Monson Fire Department ambulance.
Monson Police Department said it was notified at around 7:02 a.m. that Ware and Palmer Police Departments attempted to stop a motorcycle in each of their towns and was seen driving to nearby Monson of State Avenue and Upper. Palm road.
Monson’s officers spotted the motorcyclist traveling south on Margaret Street near Quarry Hill School and traveling south on High Street towards Main Street before hitting Keeley.
Crabb was arrested at the scene and charged with a number of motor vehicle offences. The accident is still under investigation by the Monson Police Department and others.
