Mary Trump expressed surprise Tuesday at the nickname given to porn actor Stormy Daniels by the former president. Donald Trump gave to him following their alleged sexual relationship in 2006.
Daniels testified Tuesday at the former president’s secret trial that the then-reality TV personality called her “Honeybunch” as she left his hotel room.
In the latest edition of Mary Trump’s “The Good In Us” newsletter, the presumptive GOP nominee’s niece shared the origin of the sweet nothing.
“I can tell you now: Honeybunch is my family’s favorite term of endearment,” she said.
“I can’t believe he called her that,” she wrote.
Trump is accused of falsifying documents to conceal a $130,000 payment to Daniels in the final days of the 2016 election. The reward was intended to silence her about their alleged tryst, which Trump denies .
Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist, has become one of her close friend’s most vocal critics and often uses her platform to warn of the dangers should he return to the White House.
Elsewhere in her email, she suggested that sibling rivalry forced her uncle to “become his own cheerleader” as a child. He began “believing his own hype, even though he suspected paradoxically and on a very deep level that no one else was doing it,” she added, referring to his penchant for not saying the truth.
