Mark Cuban said he would fail to be on “Shark Tank” when his last episode on the series is broadcast on Friday.
“My last @Abccsharktank is this Friday. I’m going to miss it. But it’s time to move on. Make sure you look!” Cuban wrote in an article on X Thursday.
Cuban has been an element of the ABC entrepreneurial reality TV show since he joined the full -time series in 2012. Cuban is one of the “Sharks” of the show, a providential investor that grills the founders of their commercial ideas before deciding to invest.
In November 2023, Cuban announced his departure from “Shark Tank”. Cuban said the sixteenth season of the show, which began to be broadcast in October, will be the last.
Cuban told Hollywood Reporter, in a story published in November 2023, that he was leaving the show to spend more time with his family.
“I just want to have a few summers with my teenagers before leaving alone,” Cuban wrote in an email at Hollywood Reporter. “Nothing to do with the show. I love it. I love being on it.”
Cuban told People magazine in an interview last year that the “Shark Tank” shooting calendar tended to compete with the summer holidays.
“We are still turning in June and September, and in June, just when they finish school, I have to come here,” said Cuban.
“When they were young, it was like:” Okay, we’re going to wait for Dad. “Now that these are adolescents, they do not wait at all dad, and in September, they have just returned to school,” added Cuban. “I want to be there for that.”
Admittedly, the departure of Cuban of “Shark Tank” does not mean that it will be out of the projector. The billionaire approved vice-president Kamala Harris in the presidential election last year, becoming one of his most vocal supporters. He also continued to publish on his social media platforms and criticized President Donald Trump for his pricing policies.
Last month, Cuban expressed support for a decree that Trump signed to reduce drug prices. Cuban has long been interested in health care policy and has started its own online pharmacy at low cost, Mark Cuban Cost More Drugs Co. in 2022.
“I must be honest. The @realdonaldtrump EO on health care and in particular the prices of medicines could save hundreds of billions,” Cuban wrote in an article on X, which included six ways of which he thought that the prices of drugs could be regulated.
“Put me as a coach! I’m here to help,” added Cuban.
Cuban did not respond to a request for comments from Business Insider.
