Marjorie Taylor Greene is Putin’s useful idiot and the real betrayer of America

Every time crazy-eyed blonde Marjorie Taylor Greene opens her big, expletive-filled mouth, I feel like some of my brain cells spontaneously die.

Since she first appeared on the Washington scene after the 2016 election, “MTG” has proven herself to be a garrulous, brain-deficient, incredibly shameless and attention-grabbing political Barbie for whom no conspiracy theory is concerned. is never crazy enough to be rejected.

She claimed that mass shootings like those at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, were “false flag” operations.

She suggested that the September 11 attacks were part of a government conspiracy and that no planes hit the Pentagon.

She said the California wildfires may have been started by a space laser controlled by a Jewish cabal including the Rothschild banking company.

She claimed that Bill and Hillary Clinton assassinated their political rivals, including JFK Jr. in a plane crash.

She supported the insane BS from the QAnon rabbit hole that top Democrats are involved in child sex trafficking, Satan worship, and cannibalism.

And so on – madly –.

In fact, the entire list of Taylor Greene’s incredibly moronic comments and beliefs is so long that there literally isn’t enough room in this column to list them all.

Yet, surprisingly, none of this stopped his rise to become one of the most influential voices in the Republican Party – and one of the most dangerous.

This weekend saw the lowest point of her nefarious antics as she led a campaign to block America from offering support to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, which are in dire need of security assistance to defend against the ruthless totalitarian regimes of Russia, Iran and China.

This should not have been a difficult bill for Republicans to support.

With three of America’s historic enemies threatening freedom and democracy, the world’s number one superpower has a moral duty, and a clear self-interest, to use its financial and military might to aid its targets in their defense.

Otherwise, frankly, why pretend to be the leader of the free world?

And don’t give me all these disingenuous jokes about how the United States should abandon this obligation to focus on the domestic chaos at the southern border.

As many conservative commentators like Ben Shapiro have said, she can and should be perfectly capable of doing both things at the same time.

Yet Marjorie Taylor Greene seems determined to force America to abdicate all responsibility for protecting freedom and democracy and do the dictators’ dirty work for them.

Especially regarding the war in Ukraine, during which Marjorie of Moscow became Vladimir Putin’s main useful idiot.

The expression is appropriate because it was another Vladimir, Lenin, founder of the Soviet Union, who is said to have been the first to use this contemptuous expression to describe naive and easily manipulated communist sympathizers in the West, who spewed pro-propaganda. -Russian without understanding the malicious intentions.

Lenin loved what these idiots did in his favor, but at the same time he despised them for their perfidious stupidity.

Today’s Vladimir will feel exactly the same way about Taylor Greene, whose pro-Kremlin rhetoric has made her the darling of Russian state media.

Three weeks ago, she appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast and repeated Putin’s nonsense that Ukraine was waging a “war on Christianity” and Russia was “protecting religion.” She even falsely claimed that the Ukrainian government was executing priests.

In fact, it is Russia that is torturing, kidnapping and killing scores of Ukrainian religious leaders.

And at a House Oversight Committee hearing last week, Taylor Greene repeated more of Putin’s bullshit about Ukraine being invaded by Nazis, only to be corrected by prominent historian Timothy Snyder, who pointed out that no far-right party has ever received more than 3% support in elections. Ukrainian elections while the Russian army “includes openly Nazi formations” and “the government itself has a fascist character and is waging a war that includes the deportation of children by tens of thousands, the open intention of destroying a State, as well as mass torture.

Snyder concluded: “So if there is anyone who sincerely wants to stop fascism or racism, they would want to stop Russia. »

Taylor Greene is unfortunately too stupid or delusional to understand this, but fortunately House Speaker Mike Johnson is not and managed to pass the $95 billion foreign aid bill into law on Saturday in as part of a bipartisan agreement with the Democrats.

He explained before allowing the crucial vote: “I believe that Xi, Vladimir Putin and Iran are truly an axis of evil. I think they are in coordination on this. I think Vladimir Putin will continue to tour Europe. I will give each MP the opportunity to vote according to their conscience and their will. I’m willing to take a personal risk for this, because we have to do the right thing. And history will judge us.

He is right, and history will judge him as such.

But Taylor Greene’s predictable response was to demand his firing.

“Mike Johnson’s term is over,” she said on Fox News on Sunday. “He must do the right thing to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process.” If he doesn’t, he will be released. »

And what was his crime in his eyes?

“He betrayed America. He betrayed Republican voters.

Hmmm.

A recent survey conducted by the American Action Network, the advocacy arm of the Congressional Leadership Forum, found that 56 percent of “mainstream Republicans” favor aid to Ukraine.

Johnson therefore did not betray Republican voters.

And as for his betrayal of America, he is not the one being applauded by Russian state media and Vladimir Putin.

It’s Marjorie from Moscow, the useful idiot.
