Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican of Georgia, said on Friday that she would not show up in the Senate in 2026.
The revelation – a huge relief for the Republicans who feared to challenge the Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff and compromise their chance to defeat him – came to 1,200 words in a screed against her party that Ms. Greene posted on social networks on Friday evening.
In her tirade against the forces she accused of standing on her way, Ms. Greene has torn the National Republican Senate Committee, the GOP consultants, the pollsters, the wealthy donors, the Senate institution and the republican legislators who serve there who, according to her, “sabotage Trump’s agenda.”
“No, Jon Ossoff is not the real problem,” wrote Ms. Greene in an article on X. “He is just a vote. A pawn. Not different from the republicans unparts who jump key votes to attend fundraising and let our agenda fail.”
She added: “Someone said one day:” The Senate is the place where good ideas will die. “They were right.
All eyes had temporarily turned to Ms. Greene this week after Governor Brian Kemp de Georgie, the best potential recruit for the race, announced that he would not show up for the siege, a decision he made public during a gathering of rich donors to Sea Island, GA.
