Marjorie Taylor Greene denounces a possible arrest of Donald Trump

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene condemned the possible arrest of Donald Trump next week, launching a long tirade to her 2 million Twitter followers on Saturday and urging Republicans to act if an impeachment were to be issued.

“Biden’s DOJ is coordinating with Democrat Manhattan DA to arrest Donald Trump, the top Republican presidential candidate of 2024, and charge him with a spurious, outdated misdemeanor charge,” the Georgia Republican wrote.

The 76-year-old former president faces possible indictment over a silent $130,000 payment he allegedly made to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Daniels claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006, which he denied.

“That’s what they do in communist (sic) countries to destroy their political opponents! Republicans in Congress MUST subpoena these Communists and STOP this! Greene’s tweet continued.

“We have the power to do that and we also have the power to SET their salaries and departments!”

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday that he expects to be arrested in Manhattan on Tuesday. He again insisted he had committed no crime and blasted ‘ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM CORRUPTED AND HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE’ in the post.

If indicted, Trump would be the first current or former president in US history to face criminal charges.

“There has been no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Department of Justice and the district attorney’s office, to NBC and other bogus news outlets, that the radical left-wing Democratic prosecutor funded by George Soros in Manhattan decided to conduct his witch hunt to another. level. President Trump rightly emphasizes his innocence and the weaponization of our system of injustice,” a Trump spokesperson told The Post on Saturday.

Greene, an incendiary congresswoman, was once an outlier at the House GOP conference on her past associations with white nationalists.

She was removed from all committee assignments by House Democrats when they controlled the chamber.

She then became a key part of the coalition that eventually elected Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-California) as president and has since become a powerful House insider.
