Marjorie Taylor Greene Changed 1 Letter in “MAGA” – and It Didn’t Go So Well

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) inadvertently reminded people Wednesday that the slogan’s initials “MAGA” can also stand for “Make Another Gaffe Again.”

The Georgia Republican announced plans to force a referendum on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) next week.

The motion will likely fail as Democrats announced Tuesday they would block his attempts to oust the president.

Although Greene acknowledged the motion would not pass, she said forcing the vote would show voters that Democrats support Johnson, who she said is only following the Democratic leader’s lead. Hakeem Jeffries (DN.Y.).

At one point during her press conference, she attempted a move that probably sounded good in theory: She pulled out a blue and yellow “MUGA” hat – for “Make Ukraine Great Again,” a riff on “Make America Great Again” by former President Donald Trump. ” – and awkwardly placed it atop a poster of Johnson and Jeffries.

Yes, we know, photos or it didn’t happen.

Greene was so proud of her performative hat trick that she posted a video to X, formerly Twitter, with a note criticizing the “united party,” her term for elected officials who try to work together:

The Uniparty hates MAGA. They don’t want to make America great again.

The Uniparty is MUGA. Make Ukraine great again.

Another forever war that will cost you hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars, brought to you by One-Partisan Party Chairman Mike Johnson.

Johnson doesn’t seem to mind Greene’s efforts or her hat collection. He essentially answered a reporter’s question about her with “Bless your heart,” a Southern expression often used to politely insult people, and asking, “Is she a serious legislator?”

Meanwhile, Greene’s “MUGA hat” tip didn’t get the reaction she probably expected based on reactions from users on X, formerly Twitter.

On the one hand, many people really liked MUGA hats.

Others simply doubled down on their efforts to mock Greene.
