Mariska Hargitay revealed the identity of her biological father after “living a lie” for 30 years.

The film examines the life of the deceased mother of Hargitay, the sexual symbol of the 1950s, Jayne Mansfield, died in a car accident in 1967 when Hargitay was three years old.
In the documentary, she confirms that her biological father is the Italian singer and actress Nelson Sardelli, not the bodybuilder and actor, Mickey Hargitay, as he had been told all her childhood.
In 1963, Mansfield asked for Mickey’s divorce, with whom she had two other children, and concluded a very publicized relationship with Sardelli. She reconciled with Mickey a few months before the birth of Hargitay in 1964.

When she was 30 years old, Hargitay went to see Sardelli perform in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and presented herself.
