Mariska Hargitay Helps Little Girl After She’s Mistaken for Real Cop

Mariska Hargitay is a member of an elite team: real heroes.

During filming Law and Order: Special Victims Unit In New York on April 10, the actress was approached by a little girl who mistook the 60-year-old for a real police officer based on her costume, which includes a very real police badge.

The child approached Mariska while she was filming a scene with her partner. Ice-Tand according to several media outlets, he interrupted filming to ask Mariska for help in finding his mother, which she successfully did.

E! News has reached out to Mariska for comment.

The Emmy winner – who shares children and sons August17, and Andrew12 years old and her daughter Amaya12 years old, with husband for 20 years Pierre Hermann– has played the iconic role of Olivia Benson on the NBC television series since the series premiered in 1999.

And according to Mariska, playing a role like Olivia offered her important lessons that she applied to her real life.
