Mariners’ Cal Raleigh hits first postseason homer to fan with ‘Dump Here’ jersey

Cal Raleigh picked the right time and – most importantly – the right catcher for his first playoff home run in 2025.

On Tuesday, the Seattle Mariners star hit a 391-foot shot in the top of the ninth inning in Game 3 of the American League Division Series against the Detroit Tigers.

The ball bounced inside the Mariners dugout and into a fan’s glove in the stands prepared for the moment. The fan wore a shirt that said “Dump 61 Here,” with the number referring to Raleigh’s combined home run total for the regular season and postseason.

After the game, Raleigh posed alongside the fan and presented him with a baseball and an autographed bat that read: “Jameson, thank you for cheering us on and catching 61.”

Cameras also showed the fan later donning another jersey with a similar design, replacing No. 61 with No. 62.

Among 10 players with 60 home runs during the regular season in MLB history, Raleigh is also the fourth to record a postseason outburst, according to ESPN Research. New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is the only other player to do so this century.

Raleigh had three RBIs in the M’s 8–4 victory in Game 3, becoming the first catcher in franchise history to do so in a playoff game.

Seattle is now one win away from its first AL Championship Series appearance since 2001.
