  • Rashford was sitting in the vehicle behind and is not believed to have been injured.
  • Tyrell Malacia was in the Range Rover and was taken to hospital as a precaution

One of Marcus Rashford’s cars was involved in a crash with a suspected drunk driver – and his Manchester United team-mate Tyrell Malacia was taken to hospital for checks.

As reported by The Sun, Rashford’s luxury Range Rover Sport collided with a black Mercedes on July 16 in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Rashford, 26, was sitting in the car behind and his Range Rover was driven by a friend while Dutch defender Malacia sat in the passenger seat.

The anonymous friend and Malacia were sent to the hospital as a precaution, but doctors cleared them to leave after avoiding any injuries.

Rashford is not believed to have been directly affected by the impact.

A 55-year-old woman suspected of being the driver of the Mercedes involved in the incident has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Cheshire Police have confirmed that officers attended the scene of a collision between a blue Range Rover Sport and a black Mercedes C220 AMG earlier this month.

They added that a woman was arrested at the scene and two men were taken to hospital.

The crash happened two days before Rashford was given a six-month driving ban.

The attacker was caught driving at 104mph on the M60 in his £560,000 Rolls Royce but claimed he was driving above the speed limit for fear of being pursued.

England international Rashford also insisted he was being followed “all the time”.

The incident, which took place on December 12, came less than two months after the superstar destroyed another elegant Rolls-Royce in a crash.

Although his car suffered significant damage, Rashford and the other driver involved managed to escape unharmed when officers arrived at the scene.

Rashford flew to Los Angeles with the rest of the United squad on Wednesday for their pre-season tour of the United States while Malacia remained in the UK.

The 24-year-old, who formed a close bond with Rashford and often holidayed with him, has been left out of the squad as he continues his recovery from injury.

United boss Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, is “100 per cent” confident Rashford will rediscover his goalscoring form after a difficult second campaign in charge.

Confident that new assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy will help the ace, Ten Hag said: “The reason Ruud is here is clear, he can help the attackers, but he is more than that.

“With Rashford, he can only prove himself.

“He’s already scoring so many goals at a relatively young age, he’s capable of it. So I’m 100% sure he can do the same thing he did a few years ago.”
