An unusually powerful walking storm is trekking across the country with a wide range of dangers of strong winds that could trigger blizzard conditions and dust storms with serious thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes.
The disruptive storm was based on the Rockies early on Monday on Monday, but will strengthen and develop on a large part of the center of the United States on Tuesday morning, drawing serious thunderstorms on the south side and winter time towards the north.
It is the first major test for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and its National Meteorological Service which was reduced by the Trump administration – the scientists’ cuts say that the dangerous consequences for the security of the American public. About 800 employees were dismissed in the NOAA last week.
The storm will become even stronger from there and could reach “near the record force for March” when it follows the east through the east of the United States on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Weather Prediction Center.
Here is what to expect every day:
Wind speeds will increase on Monday – especially from the afternoon – in the rocks and in certain parts of the plains. These winds could reach 60 MPH and be powerful enough to eliminate power or cause damage located by themselves, but other risks will intensify alongside them.
According to the Storm Prediction Center, a level 3 of 3 out of 3 on extremely critical fires is in place in certain parts of the east of New Mexico and western Texas.
Any spark could quickly transform into a rapid propagation hell under these conditions.
The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, ordered the state’s emergency staff to prepare for the possible double stroke of risk of critical fire and serious storms. Several state agencies are on standby and have prepared to deploy fire fighting and rescue teams, including more than 200 firefighting staff, national guard helicopters, rescue boats and additional ambulances and doctors, said the Governor’s office.
Strong winds and dry land will also combine to create And the dangerous journey, according to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, in New Mexico.
A dangerous storm of dust in the south of New Mexico closed at least two highways in the region after starting late in the morning. The video of a truck driver on Interstate 10 Monday shows a multi-vehicle accident in the middle of a storm of misty dust near the town of Deming.
Thunderstorms will burst in the evening and night from Texas to Kansas. These storms will start a prolonged and widespread threat to damage gusts of wind, hail and tornadoes in the south of the United States.
Powerful gusts of wind and hail will be the main threats when the storms will form on Monday evening, but the threat of tornado will increase during the night while individual storms begin to freeze in a large line.
Tuesday: tornadoes and blizzard conditions
Serious thunderstorms capable of damaging the gusts of wind, hail and tornadoes will continue Tuesday morning in certain parts of the plains.
The Metroplex of Dallas-Fort Worth could have powerful storms roar around sunrise, but dangerous thunderstorms will get another boost from the atmosphere as they cross the Mississippi valley in the afternoon.
According to the SPC, a level 3 level 3 risk level 3 level 3 on serious thunderstorms covers large parts of Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi. It is in this area that the threat to tornadoes is the greatest.
Strong tornadoes – nominal or higher EF2 – are possible, have warned several national meteorological service offices in the region.
Tornades are not the only thing that can release serious damage; Wind gusts greater than 70 MPH are also possible, warned the National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi.
Serious thunderstorms and strong winds outside the storms are probably in the New Orleans region on Tuesday while the region celebrates Gras. Certain celebrations in the region have been canceled due to the dangerous time planned.
All the parades that are expected to launch on Tuesday in the parish of Jefferson de Louisiana – which is part of the major region of New Orleans has been canceled.
Two of the most popular parades in New Orleans, Zulu and Rex, will start in the morning earlier and run shorter routes to try to avoid serious time, said police superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick. The tanks and walkers who accompany the parades have been canceled.
Zoulus and Rex parades could still be canceled if the storm system becomes more serious, Kirkpatrick said. Meanwhile, civil servants run to obtain loose barriers, portable toilets and other articles that could become dangerous projectiles by strong winds.
“We are a city of carnival. We are known worldwide for this. You don’t just get over that easily, “Kirkpatrick said at a press conference on Monday. But, she added, “public security will always be number one.”
The serious thunderstorms will reach more from the southeast by the evening and will continue during the night. The storms could lose a little punch during this period after having culminated in force during the hours of clarity, but gusts of harmful wind and some tornadoes are always possible.
Snow and strong winds strike parts of the plains while violent thunderstorms are raging further south.
A few inches of snow will stretch rocks through Nebraska and southern Dakota and in certain parts of the Midwest in Tuesday evening. Total snow will not be a problem for affected areas, but add gusts of wind greater than 60 mph and now you have a recipe for blizzard conditions.
Blowing snow could drop visibility in the area near zero, with whitening conditions for an extended time.
“White conditions are expected and will make trips treacherous and potentially fatal,” warned the National Weather Service of North Platte, Nebraska. “Dangerous conditions could have an impact on Tuesday morning and evening trips.”
Strong rains and strong winds are also possible where it is not cold enough to snow in certain parts of the Midwest. This combination could bring down the trees and electric lines and cause travel problems on the ground and in the air.
The large -scale storm will arrive on the east coast on Wednesday.
More than 24 million people in Georgia in Pennsylvania and New Jersey – including Washington, DC and Baltimore – are under a level 2 risk of 5 serious thunderstorms, according to the SPC. Damaged gusts of wind and some tornadoes are possible in these storms.
Strong rains and strong winds will have an impact on a large part of the northeast while the storm creates blizzard conditions in certain parts of the midwest.
Wind gusts of 40 MPH or more could occur over a large part of half is the United States throughout the day.
These winds could wreak havoc on plane trips, in particular with the hubs in Chicago and in the New York region. Current failures could also have an impact on more than a dozen states.
A large part of the storm precipitation will end in the United States on Thursday, but the burst winds will persist in its wake.
