The Florida bench was assessed a technical fault in the second half of the national championship match on Monday evening, creating a huge momentum and a possession of four points for Houston.
The fault was evaluated at 5:21 pm from the second half when Florida coaches jumped on the field of the banking area lowered after a defensive fault out of the ball on the Gators Will Richard goalkeeper. According to NCAA rules, only one coach is authorized to stand in the coache box during live action, and assistant coaches must be seated.
There is a sculpture in the rules book allowing a spontaneous reaction to an “exceptional” part, however, the official whistle of the official may indicate that the bench has been warned before. As Ian Eagle noted in the dissemination of CBS, there seems to have been a construction tension between the bench and the officiant crew and the Florida coaches to a call with which they disagreed.
The cougars guardian LJ Cryer received two free throws after the room – by making one. Houston has also kept possession. A few moments later, Cryer pierced a 3-point pointer to give Houston an advantage of 40-30 as part of what was indeed a 4-point sequence.
