A shooting in North Portland left one dead on a TriMet MAX rig. June 27, 2024 (KOIN).
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The 39-year-old man who died Thursday night on a MAX rig was shot when there were no trains or TriMet buses nearby, Portland police said Saturday evening.
The death of Sean K. Smeeden was ruled a homicide by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner. Authorities once again confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in this case.
Smeeden’s body was found around 8:30 p.m. on June 27 on the MAX platform near North Interstate Avenue and North Prescott Street. He was already dead when police arrived.
The investigation continues and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Portland Police.
