Milwaukee – Just as they had done in the first game, the Padres scored the only round in the last game of this week’s trip to the west coast, then at Midwest.
“It was a week of baseball in playoffs,” said Manny Machado.
It was not a small ball that decided on another close match played by the Padres. It was a very long Machado ball that accomplished this.
His 425-foot Home Run in the seventh round, just the third hit of the match at this point, was the difference in a 1-0 victory on the Brewers and the difference by making a winning week.
The Padres played four games on a round in San Francisco and two here and finished 4-3 in the road trip.
“You are talking about grinding,” said manager Mike Shildt. “They succeeded. Six games in one blow, a two -point game.… I could not be more satisfied with this road trip overall and dedication to competition. ”
It goes back to this trip.
As they go to a series that begins on Monday at Petco Park against the Dodgers, which they drag with a match in the West National League, the Padres have won four of their last five series and divided the other.
Each of their 10 victories in this period came by a margin of no more than two points, and Sunday was their 23rd victory in the major league.
Their 14 victories in a round are the second in the majors and their percentage of victories of 0.636 (14-8) in these matches is the third best.
“Very rarely, you explode a team in the playoffs,” said Léveur Jason Adam. “Of course, we like the eruptions when they occur, and we like to win by 20. But there are many important games played that are very close, so a team that can fight together and win these ball games is special, and that’s what we have here.”
Sunday was also their ninth MLB victory when he scored no more than two points and their best victory for the MLB-Bown Walch.
Two of them were completed by the launcher who started the match – Michael King on April 13 and Stephen Kolek on May 10. The other 10 were group efforts.

“We have to give credit to these young guys, which they have done these last three departures,” said short-Court Xander Bogaerts. “The enclosure of the readers, they were solid all year round. Last year, this year. You know what you get with them, but you ask three young guys to do it against good teams. This is a lot of credit for these three guys.”
The game could have lasted in the night without the left -handed Brewers of Machado, Ron Zastryzny.
It was the second home run in Machado in three nights and third in four games. He was safe in the first game of the trip and 11 for 24 with six products produced the rest of the path.
“No one did all this trip on the road,” said Shildt. “But, you know, I’m glad Manny made the trip.”
The Machado circuit leading the seventh was the middle of the three strokes of the Padres, one less than the total with which the brewers finished.
None of the two teams was sure until Rhys Hoskins drops a simple on a soft line online in the left field with a withdrawal at the bottom of the fifth round.
Tyler Wade began the sixth round with only one that he gently aligned right to the coast of the leaving for brewers Freddy Peralta.
Bergert, a 25 -year -old right -hander, made his second career. He granted two points in five rounds on Tuesday in San Francisco.
“I made land when I needed,” said Bergert. “I think that today, I was performing things a little better than my last start, and I was satisfied with that. … I felt more comfortable on the mound and not as nervous as the first.”
Bergert posed the first seven Brewers strikers on 24 locations before walking Caleb Durbin and late 3-0 in Joey Ortiz.
But he launched two strikes then came out of the sleeve when Ortiz bordered a ball on the straight field line that Fernando Tatis Jr. ran 39 feet to catch before launching to the first goal to double Durbin, who was running on the ground.
Bergert succeeded in the fourth round on 10 locations and was 47 throws and had faced the minimum 12 strikers at this point.
He withdrew William Contreras to start the fifth before walking Sal Frelick and giving Hoskins a simple one who brought Fronick to third.
With Yuki Matsui warming up in the enclosure of the lifts, Bergert won two seven battles to get out of the Channel, withdrawing Jake Bauers and obtaining Durbin on a group at the third base.
He also started the sixth with an update before walking the two following strikers.
Matsui entered and withdrew Christian Yelich before walking against the basics and leaving them in this way when he withdrew Fronick.
Sean Reynolds and Wandy Peralta managed the seventh. Adam has survived a pair of two -strokes in the eighth. Robert Suarez worked around a single to two withdrawals to extend his total backup of MLB’s head to 21.
“The guys from the enclosure of the lifts were fantastic,” said Shildt about a rescue body that allowed five points (three deserved) and just two of the 14 runners inherited from scoring in the seven games. “We passed the ball. I had and we felt confident to do this.… The pitch was fantastic. ”
