There is a movement at the top of the Division of UFC flies.
The title contenders, Manel Kape and Brandon Royval, were reserved to meet at UFC 317 on June 28 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with two sources following a first report by Laerte Viana.
This is not the first time that Kape (21-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Royval (17-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) have signed a contract to fight. The two initially had to meet at the UFC Fight Night 253 on March 1, but Royval withdrew from the match due to some concussion he suffered during the training.
Kape remained on the map and ended up fighting and stopping the replacement of ASU Almabayev in the main event. Kape has been on a two -fighting victories sequence since his strange defeat against Muhammad Mokaev. He has 6-1 in his last seven UFC outings.
Royval has not contributed since October, when he beat the best hope Tatsuro Taira in an exciting and competitive shared decision. Before that, “Raw Dog” had undoubtedly won the greatest victory of his career, going beyond former champion Brandon Moreno in Mexico.
At the time of writing the time of writing, there are no other fights currently confirmed for the UFC 317.
