Manchester United said they made a Mason Mount mistake that would hurt Casemiro

Manchester United have been told they made a huge mistake signing Mason Mount and not James Maddison.
That’s the verdict of ex-Red Devils star Paul Parker, who also insisted Casemiro would have preferred to play with Maddison.

United paid £60million for Mount from Chelsea after making it clear to the Blues that he did not want to sign a new contract.
But it hasn’t been a happy start to life at Old Trafford for the 24-year-old, who has since been sidelined through injury.
Speaking to bettors, Parker believes United may have made a mistake in signing Mount.
“Manchester United should have spent Mason Mount’s money on James Maddison,” he said.

“I’ve never been too sure about Maddison because of his temper and he’s been dealing with a lot of injuries. His performances so far suggest Maddison would have been the right player to buy.”
“Personally, I was not behind buying Mount. He is not what Manchester United need.
“They needed someone to come in and be like Eriksen. Maddison is like Eriksen when he was at Tottenham.
“A wonderful player to watch. One of the best foreign players to come to the Premier League in recent times. One of the best European players.”

Maddison joined Tottenham for £20m less than Mount’s fee and made an instant impact, scoring one goal and registering two assists in three appearances for Spurs.
The former Leicester star is considered more of a playmaker than Mount, whose work-rate and industry are arguably his best traits.
But the lack of balance bothered Casemiro, Parker argued, and that the Brazilian would have preferred to play with Maddison.
“Casemiro lacks someone next to him who can pass the ball,” added the former full-back.
“The ball is not passed. It is distributed cheaply.
“There’s someone in Mount who runs a lot and someone in Fernandes who is erratic and flaunts his frustration and throws his hands up rather than backing down.”
