Man United fan Luke Littler reacts pricelessly to boos as Leeds lad Luke Humphries enjoys hero’s reception

Luke Littler relished his role as pantomime villain as the Premier League Darts arrived in Leeds.

The 17-year-old sensation clearly takes inspiration from his favorite team, Manchester United, after learning to accept the scrutiny that comes with being one of the sport’s biggest stars.

Walking on stage at the First Direct Arena, Littler knew he was in for a hostile reception given the intense rivalry between the Red Devils and city club Leeds United.

Preparing for his replacement before his quarter-final clash with Peter WrightLittler could be seen covering his ears in anticipation of boos from the crowd.

Once they started, he could be seen saying “here we go”, due to the inevitability of the stick he received.

While Littler was the villain of the piece at Leeds, Luke Humphries was very much the hero of his comeback.

The Leeds-born star is a huge Leeds United fan and discussed the prospect of a new track for his outing at the First Direct Arena, which did not disappoint.

Taking to the stage in a white and blue top in tribute to Leeds United, Humphries took to the stage to the sounds of Kaiser Chiefs’ “I Predict A Riot” – a surefire hit with Leeds fans given their own association with the Yorkshire city.

Littler and Humphries progressed to the semi-finals on night 15 after defeating Wright and Rob Cross, respectively.

In the final four, they prepared to face Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith for a place in the evening’s final.
