Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice struck in the second half to cancel Bruno Fernandes’ free kick, but Mikel Arteta’s men were unable to bring a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday in a blow for their chances of the Premier League title.
The leaders of the Arsenal trails, second, Liverpool, of 15 points, but with a match in hand, while Manchester United is 14th on 34 points.
The first half was far from being a classic with a dominant possession of Arsenal, but with little chance for each side before Fernandes finally broke the dead ends a few seconds before half-time and against the race of the game with a brilliant free kick that sailed on the wall and passed the tense hands of goalkeeper David Raya.
The second half was much more entertaining with masses almost for both sides before Rice ranked in the 74th minute when he hung on a Jurrien Timber bullet and triggered a puffy shot on the edge of the box after André Onana.
