Man sustains life-threatening injuries in East Village shooting

DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO —
A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting in the East Village early Saturday, San Diego police said.
The victim’s friend called 911 to report the incident near 17th and K streets around 5:45 a.m., police said.
Officers arrived and found a 54-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds about a block west. The victim told officers the shooter was wearing a brown hoodie and ran after opening fire, police said.
The injured man was taken to hospital and was in stable condition Saturday morning, police said.
The shooter has not been located.
