Oakland – A man was stabbed several times on Sunday morning in the Chinatown district, the authorities announced.
The age and state of man were not immediately available. He would be in his forties, the authorities said.
The stab was reported on Sunday around 8 a.m.
The police said that evidence found on the scene said that the man had been stabbed near a bus stop in Bloc 100 in the 11th rue. He had several injuries to his leg.
The man was able to make more than 200 feet alone in a corner on the 1000 block on Madison Street, where he was able to enter a parked vehicle, the authorities said.
The car alarm was activated and the owner found the man inside the vehicle and called the police.
One of the first officers on the scene applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg to stem bleeding before firefighters arrive and medical staff.
The police hoped to be able to speak to the man to get more details on what happened. A stab motif was not determined. No arrest was made and no suspicious information has been published.
Anyone with information on stabs can call the police at 510-238-3426. Anyone with a video or photographs that could help the survey can send them by e-mail to cidvideo@oaklandca.gov.
