Man seriously injured in hit-and-run at Back of the Yards – NBC Chicago

A man was seriously injured Monday night after being hit by a vehicle in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood in the South End, officials said.

The man, 63, was standing on the sidewalk around 10 p.m. in the 4600 block of South Ashland Avenue when the driver of a white sedan traveling northbound hit a parked vehicle, flipping him onto the sidewalk and hit the pedestrian, Chicago Police said.

The victim suffered physical trauma and was taken to a nearby hospital where she was last listed in critical condition, police said.

The sedan driver hit two other vehicles before walking away, officials said.

No one was in custody.
