Man seriously injured after shooting; 3 injured as victim flees scene – NBC Chicago

A man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times on Sunday morning, while three women were also injured after their vehicle was hit by the victim as he tried to flee the scene.

Chicago police say the incident happened in the West Garfield Park neighborhood around 8 a.m. Sunday.

A 44-year-old man was inside a vehicle in the 200 block of South Kilbourn when another vehicle pulled up alongside him. Three men got out of the vehicle and fired at him, police said.

The man then attempted to drive away from the scene and eventually struck a vehicle in the first block of North Cicero, Chicago police say.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was in critical condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Three unidentified women were in the vehicle which was struck as the victim fled. They were all taken to an area hospital, but their condition was not immediately known.

No suspects are in custody and Chicago police are investigating the incidents.
