Man killed in high-speed crash on I-80 in Vallejo Saturday morning

VALLEJO — A Vacaville man died after losing control of the pickup truck he was driving eastbound on I-80 in Vallejo Saturday morning, authorities said.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., three men in their twenties were speeding in a black Toyota Tundra when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and hit a concrete wall just outside east of the Highway 37 overpass, according to the California authority. Highway Patrol in Solano County.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was fatally injured after he was ejected from the Toyota and hit the roadway, police said.
The two passengers – one from Vacaville, the other from San Pablo – were taken to North Bay Medical Center for neck and back pain.
Authorities believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash. Two lanes of traffic that were briefly closed during the investigation were reopened at 4:45 a.m.
