Man killed by friends who plotted murder on Snapchat: police

According to the police, Williams will serve a minimum duration of 23 years and Nelson-Palmer a minimum duration of 16.

Calling Sutton’s death as a “brutal murder”, the authorities say that the victim was “attracted” to an address to Croydon before being fatally stabbed on May 23, 2023.

That day, Sutton was seen in an apartment, where he was joined by the two sentenced killers. According to the police, “if Lucas knew that the others were going to be there is not clear, but he left the apartment with Williams and Nelson-Palmer to go to a store to buy drinks.”

Security images published by the police show Nelson-Palmer and Lucas leaving the store, with Williams who waits outside, a few moments before the alleged attack.

“Unbeknown to Lucas, they had exchanged snapchat messages in the days preceding the meeting with the intention of attacking it,” the police said. “As they returned from shop to Northbrook Road, Williams produced a knife and stabbed Lucas who was completely taken into account.”

The authorities also published a photo of Nelson-Palmer holding a giant knife, which would have found on Snapchat. The knife on the photo, the police confirmed to TOOFAB, was not used in the attack.

After being stabbed, Lucas made a race for this – like Williams and Nelson -Palmer followed, according to the authorities. Williams would then have stabbed Lucas again, before the victim “burst into a local pub asking for help” and “collapses on the ground”. He died later in the hospital.

According to police, the two attackers “fled” the scene, Williams being seen in images entering a taxi – with the police spotted in the background of the video.

The authorities also claim that video surveillance has shown that Williams “bearing a distinctive hood while he hunted Lucas in the street” – before a similar article was discovered at an address linked to him. According to the police, Nelson-Palmer’s phone “revealed the plot that had taken place” between him and Williams.

Lucas’ friends and family, on the other hand, said that he “seemed to be withdrawn and frightened” before being attacked and told them “that he had turned people upside down and feared for his safety”.

“The evidence collected and presented to the jury built a clear image of a conspiracy to attract Lucas to an address to Croydon, act as if nothing had happened, then to attack it violently,” said the detective chief inspector Brian Howie, of the command of the specialized crime of the MET.

“Lucas and one of the accused had been friends, but in the group’s mind, Lucas had crossed them while trying to get rid of a firearm he had held. This perceived betrayal was the motivation of this deadly attack,” he added.

“He is clear in the weeks preceding the murder that Lucas realized that he was in danger, but he did not suspect that it was those he considered his friends,” said Howie. “It was a pre-suited and insane act that left Lucas’ family and friends.

In a statement, Lucas’ family said that his murder “left a big hole in our lives that can never be filled.”

“Lucas was not perfect, he made mistakes but he was ours. He had a bright future ahead of him, but it was removed,” he continued. “They not only removed a nephew but a son, a grandson, a brother, a cousin, a father, a partner, a friend and much more. We sit at home almost expecting him to come with a smile on his face, but he never does.”

“He leaves behind his young son who will have to grow without his best friend and father,” they concluded. “It breaks our hearts that he will never see his father again again, we sometimes see him watching his friends playing with their father, and we just think he will never have that.”

According to police, a 19 -year -old was also acquitted the murder of Lucas at the beginning of the month.
