Police went to the home Friday to serve Cooper with an arrest warrant on charges of kidnapping, battery and drug administration, sources said.

A SWAT team entered the home Saturday morning, leading to an exchange of gunfire between Cooper and police. No one was hurt. Sunday morning, police found Cooper deceased.

Photos and videos posted to Cooper’s social media accounts appeared to show a craze for guns, including several photos of armed animals. Another video shows Cooper firing a semi-automatic weapon with the caption: “I’d rather be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.”

Henderson police arrested a person with the same name as Cooper in February for domestic violence. In that case, the charges stated that Cooper used a deadly weapon and seriously injured his victim.

In that case, Cooper was accused of “attacking and repeatedly beating” a roommate on two occasions, according to documents obtained Monday by 8 News Now investigators. Police then went to the house and found it covered in blood.

Cooper accused his roommate of stealing money, drugs and gold, documents state.

After his arrest in February, a judge released Cooper without requiring bail because prosecutors had not presented enough evidence to arrest him, according to court records.

Documents say police then went to the home and found several firearms in Cooper’s bedroom. Police said they seized the weapons because of a protective order filed in California, which prohibited him from possessing firearms.

A person with the same name as Cooper has also been charged with domestic violence and stalking outside of California. Cooper was scheduled to be sentenced in the case next year.

Henderson police provided the timeline Monday afternoon but did not identify Cooper.

“We would like to thank the members of our community for their patience and understanding during
this critical incident,” Henderson Police Chief Hollie Chadwick said in a statement. “Our primary focus will always be the safety of our community members. We would like to thank our Valley partners who worked tirelessly with us to bring this critical incident to a successful conclusion. The Henderson Police Department will continue to valiantly and diligently serve the members of our community.

Henderson police said they will provide a recorded video statement at a later date.
