Man dies from apparent drowning at Marlborough Reservoir

A 20-year-old man died of an apparent drowning in a Marlborough reservoir Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The man was fishing with friends when he went underwater and did not resurface at Fort Meadow Reservoir, according to a spokesperson for the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The reservoir is located between Marlborough and Hudson.

Marlborough police and firefighters attended the reservoir and located the victim. He was taken to Marlborough Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said an investigation into the death was underway.
