The Sunday Manchester derby did not offer the entertainment that the shock made in the past and the fan of the city Liam Gallagher was far from being impressed by what he looked at.
United and City – Saturday 13th and fifth of the table – produced a moderate, disjointed and aimless confrontation which did not have the drama seen in December, when the men of Amorim obtained a last 2-1 turnar at the Etihad stadium.
None of the two parties offered a lot in the future with Joshua Zirkzee passing the clearest of the game.
And the star of Oasis Gallagher, a fan of Citizens for life, went to X after the match to express his frustration.
“The Manchester Derbys are the absolute Turdos these days,” he wrote when the game was coming to an end.
He then posted again when the referee whistled full time, writing “What a load of S ***”.
Liam Gallagher described the Manchester derby a “ shit charge ” after Sunday impasse
The Pep Guardiola team, which lacked its top scorer Erling Haaland through an injury, is fifth in the table on 52 points, one behind Chelsea, and United Languis in 13th place out of 38.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola tried to remain positive and said her intention to finish the season at the top.
“That’s what it is. Of course, it would be better to win ” said the boss in Media at his post-match press conference.
“Old Trafford is Old Trafford. You always need a good performance to win. We tried to make good accumulation, to get crosses very well and to try to control situations.
“They can run and they were dangerous but always we had our chances. In the second half in the first 10 or 15 minutes, it was our best time.
“The last three games, I saw a lot of good things, in the last two games and today and passion when we lose the ball that we have lost several times this season for many reasons.
“But with the ball, our strength will always be with the position and we have lost this today. We were not in the right position to hurt them.
The confrontation between the city and United in Old Trafford did not have the intensity of the past years
“We must be in a single tempo and be in the right position. But we could not accelerate it because we were not in the right position, which is why we missed our tempo a little to create more chances.
“Of course, Phil had a chance, two or two Kevin and one from Omar. They had a chance of transitions but I think it’s fairly fair. We take up the point and we move forward.
“Crystal Palace and go ahead,” he added. I would prefer to have 10 or 12 more points. Previous seasons with five or six games, we were already there, but that’s what it is.
“I am concerned with recovery, Crystal Palace and Everton, in the FA Cup semi-finals with Nottingham Forest. All the games in front of us. Win, win, win and that’s what we will try to do.
