An Asian from Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood is the latest victim in a string of robberies by teenage boys.
The incident happened on August 26 around 4:40 p.m., according to the Daily Mail reported. Home security footage shows the man standing on the porch when someone wearing a hoodie and a mask covering his mouth and nose comes running up and points a gun at him. Another hooded assailant then appears to tackle the victim, causing them to fall backwards.
“Give me everything you’ve got,” one of the suspects told the victim.
The two attackers then allegedly stole the man’s personal belongings, including his mobile phone, wallet, car keys, gold necklace, watch and even the rings he wore on his finger.
Since June, the Seattle Police Department said it received 14 reports of robberies that occurred at single-family homes, KIRO 7. reported. Five of these thefts took place in ten days. Owners of the home targeted in the latest attack declined to comment on the incident.
Breitbart News reported that a Seattle burglar was caught by police consuming gasoline in the garage belonging to one of his targets.
Last year, the violent crime rate hit a 15-year high, according to the Seattle police department.
Overall crime increased by four percent. Motor vehicle thefts increased to 30 percent and homicides to 24 percent.
The biggest increase in crime is among the homeless, which increased by 229% in 2022. The homeless population has increased by 38% between 2020 and 2022.
The spike in crime rates comes as the city cut $7 million from its budget to the Seattle Police Department following the 2020 death of George Floyd.
Nearly a third of Seattle residents plan to leave the city, according to a survey conducted by THE Seattle Times/University of SuffolkBreitbart News reported.
