MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man is facing charges after police say he overturned a portable toilet containing a woman and child who were trapped inside.

Witnesses told Manchester police the man and woman got into an argument Wednesday near the Derryfield Park port-a-potty.

When the woman, who apparently did not know the 18-year-old man, entered the porta-potty to help her daughter, the man knocked her over and she landed with the door on the sidewalk.

Bystanders ran and knocked over the toilet, freeing the woman and child who said they were covered in feces and bodily fluids, police said.

The woman and child were not injured. The man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and criminal restraint. He was also charged with simple assault for throwing an object at one of the officers, police said.

It was not immediately known whether he was represented by a lawyer.
