Mamie Laverock’s family says fall was unintentional in health update

A spokesperson for Providence Health Care told E! News that, for privacy reasons, they do not comment on specific patient incidents, but add: “In cases related to patient safety, an internal review of critical incidents is conducted to determine exactly what happened and make recommendations to improve patient safety.”

“Our thoughts are with the patient, his family and all those affected by this event,” the spokesperson continued, “and we extend our best wishes for a full recovery.”

E! News was unable to find a representative for Mamie for additional comment.

Mamie was initially hospitalized on May 11 after “experiencing a medical emergency,” according to a GoFundMe set up by her parents.

They later shared an update saying: “We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26, Mamie, who had been in intensive treatment for two weeks, was escorted from a secure unit at the hospital and taken to a balcony from which she fell five stories.
