The balance payment must be completed either before the travel date or within 45 days of booking, whichever comes first.
Importantly, there are no additional charges for using this option.
The feature addresses a major pain point for travelers, particularly families or groups, who often face challenges in paying the full ticket amount upfront.
Travelers using this option can also modify their bookings after completing the full payment, subject to fare rules.
Saujanya Shrivastava, Chief Operating Officer – Flights, Holidays & Gulf at MakeMyTrip, explained, “Making travel simpler and more accessible is central to our mission. This industry-first part-payment feature empowers more Indians to book international flights with greater convenience and flexibility.”
The feature has already seen encouraging adoption, especially for bookings exceeding ₹1 lakh, MakeMyTrip said in a statement.
Solo travelers, couples, and families are leveraging the part-payment option for both long-haul and short-haul international flights.
The company has previously introduced:
Zero Cancellation: Offers coverage for cancellations due to unforeseen events.
Fare Lock: Lets travelers lock flight prices for a fee, securing tickets at the same price within a specific time window.
Free Date Change: Allows flight date changes up to two hours before departure without hassle.

- Visit MakeMyTrip’s website or app.
- Choose an international flight and select the part-payment option at checkout.
