Major winter storm dumps inches of snow in DC area – NBC4 Washington

Good morning, and welcome to a winter wonderland! Several inches of snow have already piled up, and many more hours of snowfall are ahead of us.
The current forecast is calling for 6″-12″ of snow or even more in some spots before it’s all over.
Officials are asking people to stay off the roads. Many school districts are closed, and hundreds of flights have been canceled. Metrorail is running normally, but Metrobus service is reduced.
A winter storm warning is in effect for the D.C. area.
