Vincent Keymer made the headlines on the 5th day of the Freestyle chess tour event in Weissenhaus on Tuesday, winning a superb victory over the world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen when all the other games ended with a draw. Keymer kept the German flag flying at the top of the luxury of Weissenhaus private nature after a stellar exhibition against the co-founder of Freestyle chess, Carlsen, who resigned in 39 movements in match 1 of their Confrontation in the semi-finals.
Speaking on the Shoot The application after his victory over Carlsen, Keymer revealed that Carlsen was in a confused state of mind, in particular towards the closing stages of the game, and “did not really know what to do”.
“I could feel how he was acting that he didn’t really know what to do. This was the biggest problem for him, “said Keymer after succeeding what is probably the biggest victory in his career so far.
“Even if I have no immediate threat, it is incredibly difficult for him to make a reasonable movement, because whatever the movement he plays, he will change something in the position and that he covers the risk that Certain tactical possibilities appear.
“Regardless of the movement he chooses, he must choose several tactical ideas which, of course, horrible if you don’t have much time on the clock,” added Keymer.
“I could feel how he was acting that he didn’t really know what to do. He is the biggest problem for him.”

Keymer added that Carlsen was starting to look “increasingly” nervous over the game.
“I speak specifically about the last stage of the game. Because generally when it is low in time, it makes its movements with a fairly decent time on the clock and a certain confidence, and here it has become incredibly low.
“And he became more and more nervous, showing that he was not entirely certain of what to do, whether it was actually correct,” added Keymer.
Carlsen faces an essential scenario in match 2 of the force test in the semi-finals against Keymer if he wants to keep his hope of winning the Weissenhaus event alive.
