Madrid have beaten Man United as the most valuable club in the world – Forbes

Real Madrid were the most valuable club in the world in 2022 with a value of $6.07bn (£4.9bn), according to Forbes.
For a second consecutive year, the Spanish giants topped the US business magazine’s list of 30 clubs, with Manchester United in second place, valued at $6bn (£4.8bn).

La Liga champions Barcelona, who finished first in 2021, are third with a valuation of $5.51bn (£4.4bn).
This year’s list marks the first time two clubs have hit the $6 billion mark. Madrid have increased in value over the past year by 19%, while United have soared by 30%.
“The Spanish side have reached five of the last nine lucrative Champions League finals, winning them all,” Forbes said.
“Real Madrid have also secured nearly $400 million from Sixth Street and Legends as part of a 20-year deal to boost revenue from their Santiago Bernabeu stadium, which has undergone a massive renovation that is expected to be completed by next year.”
Madrid and United are the only two clubs to make the top five every year since 2004, when Forbes began publishing annual football club ratings.
Six of the top 10 ranked clubs in the report are Premier League sides, while seven of the top 30 clubs are from the United States.
