Madonna’s Son David Banda ‘Scavenges’ Food, Lives in Bronx After Moving Out of Mom’s House

He is not a materialistic boy.

Madonna’s 18-year-old son David Banda says he is “scavenging” for food after moving out of his mother’s multi-million dollar home.

“I love it. I’m not alone, I have my girlfriend. But I love it,” Banda, who is dating 21-year-old model Maria Atuesta, said during a recent Instagram Live session.

“It’s nice to have that experience when it’s 9pm, being hungry and realising I don’t have enough money to buy food and rummage through the bins. It’s fun to be young.”

Banda reportedly lives in the Bronx and earns his own money teaching guitar.

Her new lifestyle appears to be a far cry from that of her mother, who is said to have a fortune of $850 million and has an impressive bicoastal real estate portfolio.

Banda charges $200 per guitar lesson, which can be booked through his Instagram page.

He also worked as a model.

Banda, one of Madonna’s six children, also confirmed that his superstar mother was “not single” and was “dating a boy.”

Last year, Madge, 65, was in a relationship with boxer Josh Popper, 29, but in May the pair reportedly split. Despite rumours the pop star was getting close to boxer Richard Riakporhe, 34, he has since denied the rumours, saying the two are just friends.

Currently on her Celebration tour, Madonna has invited four of her children on stage.

“I think what my kids have learned the most over this year of rehearsing and performing is that if you want to follow your dreams, you have to work hard to achieve them,” she said in an interview with W magazine.

“And if they all choose something different later in life, they will never forget this year of blood, sweat and tears.”

To complement his lifestyle, Banda also began offering guitar lessons in addition to his music. Instagram/sanscacona

In a previous interview with Vogue in 2019, the Grammy-winning artist raved about Banda’s work ethic and talent.

“What he has more than anything is focus and determination,” Madonna said of Banda, who was adopted as a baby with her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie.

“I’m pretty sure he gets that from me. He’s the one I have the most in common with. I feel like he understands me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far. Let’s see what happens – it’s still early days for everyone.”
