Madeleine McCann’s parents in disbelief 17 years after her disappearance

Madeleine McCann‘s parents are still reeling from his shocking disappearance almost two decades ago.

Gerry And Kate McCann marked the 17th anniversary of the night their 3-year-old daughter went missing while on vacation in 2007 in Praia da Luz, Portugal, reflecting how the tragedy shaped their family and their lasting hope of finding her.

“It’s hard to say this number without shaking your head in disbelief,” the couple wrote on their Find Madeleine website on May 3. “Although we are fortunate in many ways and able to live relatively normal and enjoyable lives now, ‘living’ in limbo’ is still very unsettling. And absence still hurts.”

“Your support continues to encourage us and builds our strength to continue,” continued the statement from Gerry and Kate, who are also the parents of 18-year-old twins Sean and Amélie. “We know the love and hope for Madeleine and the desire to find her, even after so many years, remains, and we are truly grateful.”
