Maddy Cusack’s family is concerned about what they consider to be a lack of transparency on the disclosure of documents related to his case, heard a courtyard of the coroner.
The investigation into the death of the Sheffield United player, 27, was postponed, the procedures are now unlikely to start before mid-July.
A fourth pre-establishment examination is temporarily set for June 3 at the court of Chesterfield Coroner, although a new date for the full three-day survey has not yet been confirmed.
Lawyers for the Cusack family, including their parents David and Deborah Cusack, who attended the last hearing, called for “increased transparency” of documents linked to them before the investigation.
The legal representative of the family, Maria Mulla, told Coroner that the family had received a copy of an investigation report from the football association on the circumstances surrounding Maddy’s death, but added: “ They are concerned with a lack of transparency, in particular with regard to the documents provided to them.
“I am told that the FA report in particular has missing pages and has a large number of editors.

“I do not think it is an unreasonable request for the family or their legal team to inspect the material expurgated. The family wants a certain transparency.
Coroner Sophie Cartwright denied demand, saying that the principles of Worcestershire were followed in this case. According to these principles, all the parties, including the FA, have submitted unresaled equipment to the coroner and have submitted to what they believe should be expared.

David Cusack told court in January that the calendar to assess the decline in Maddy’s mental health is expected to start in February 2023 – Morgan was appointed director.
The family also pointed out that Maddy had no history of mental illness and described it as a happy and carefree girl with everything that lives ”, adding that by Christmas 2022, they were “to her happiest”. According to them, a notable change started from February.

Sheffield United put an internal investigation into the issue, which ended in December 2023, finding no evidence of misconduct.
The football association launched a separate investigation, the conclusions of which were submitted to the Coroner Sophie Cartwright in January.
In February 2024, Sheffield United rejected Morgan after the emergence of information concerning a relationship he had with a player during his previous mandate in Leicester City between 2014 and 2021.
The club said that the dismissal was not linked to the FA investigation, although it was welcomed by the Cusack family.
