Luke Littler visibly surprised as William Regal shows him personal video message from Cody Rhodes

Not much can faze Luke Littler, the cool-handed darts prodigy who regularly beats world champions with a flick of the wrist.

But when he met a few WWE superstars in the United States, it was obvious how smitten the 17-year-old was.

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes sent Luke Littler a personal message on the big screen at WWE headquarters.

Ahead of the US Darts Masters this week, Littler was out exploring America and was introduced to WWE headquarters by British wrestling legend William Regal, as well as British tag team Pretty Deadly.

Making the tour alongside compatriot Peter Wright, Littler then appeared shocked after a surprise message.

Regal told the teen to take a look at the big screen where a message from the undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, was playing.

Rhodes praised Littler for his incredible progress over the past six months, from his shock debut to the PDC World Championship final to winning the Premier League in his first year in the competition.

As Littler looked up, a message from Rhodes rang out: “Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler, this is America’s Nightmare Cody Rhodes, undisputed WWE Champion.

“I heard you were going to WWE headquarters for a little skiing trip. I love it.

“I heard you are a WWE fan. I like it even more. My friend, we are fans of yours.

“I’m a fan of the game of darts, simply because of the show Deep Space Nine. Bashir, O’Brien.

“I know it’s a deep cut, maybe you’ve never even seen the show but it’s given me an appreciation for darts.

“It’s clear that I like you as an athlete, as a performer and as a competitor.

“My man, you are a champion of a champion. Luke, my friend, see you later.”

Littler, shocked, could only respond: “I didn’t expect that!”

He let out a chuckle and looked beaming alongside Regal and Wright, later using Rhodes’ entrance theme “Kingdom” at the US Darts Masters on Friday night.

It was a change from his usual theme song “Greenlight” by Pitbull, inspired by his participation in Wrestlemania 33 in 2017 at the age of 11.

And ‘The Nuke’ destroyed his opponent Matt Campbell 6-0 after just 10 minutes at the Oche to advance to the quarter-finals where he will face Jeff Smith.
