Luke Littler shows off ever-growing trophy collection following latest darts triumph

Luke Littler showed off his impressive trophy cabinet following his latest Premier League triumph.

The 17-year-old was in fine form in Manchester on Thursday as he won back-to-back Premier League games, following his opening win in Belfast last week.

Littler beat former world champion Gerwyn Price 6-3 to continue his rise, also knocking Luke Humphries off the top of the rankings in the process.

And the youngster may have to make room for his latest accolade by showing off his trophy collection on social media.

On his Instagram Story, Littler uploaded a photo of the Premier League night trophy alongside memorabilia from his other winners.

This follows a remarkable year for ‘The Nuke’, whose fame exploded during the PDC World Championship where he reached the final.

As he lost to Humphries, the country entered Littlermania and he was brought into the Premier League soon after.

Since the final, Littler has won the Bahrain Masters and Belgian Open and has his sights set on winning Michael van Gerwen’s Premier League title.

Not that it occurred to him at the AO Arena on Thursday evening after hearing the news that his beloved Manchester United had lost to Chelsea in dramatic circumstances.

“I was in a bad mood. I was like, ‘I win this now’. It gave me motivation,” the teenager said.

“There were a few Manchester United fans on strike, so I was happy to have won.”

Littler now tops the Premier League table and is in a good position to qualify for the play-offs at the O2 Arena on May 23.

“I’m happy to have won,” he told Sky Sports. “I definitely settled there (in the Premier League).

“The first five or six weeks I won, then I lost and lost. I gained confidence.

“There are still six weeks to go, but I am sure that if I continue to score two or three points a week I will qualify for the play-offs.”
