The world number 58 leaves behind his fiancée, Christiana. The couple was set to marry in spring 2024.

In his post, Donald revealed he spoke to Murray a few months ago when he was looking for advice on Augusta and paid tribute to the golfer.

He wrote: “Truly devastating news: the passing of Grayson Murray.

“He asked me for advice on how to play at Augusta a few months ago. Last week I saw him at the PGA Championship, life is really precious.

“My condolences and prayers to all of her family that she can find some peace.”

Fellow American Weston was equally devastated to hear the news and shared his tribute, posting: “Very sad to hear the news of Grayson Murray’s passing today.

“Life is so fragile…I was just hugging you at the Masters, telling you how proud I am of you. Thank you for knowing you.

“My deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. We will miss him.’

Another American, Justin Thomas, also shared his condolences and admitted he was speechless upon hearing the news of Murray’s passing.

Thomas wrote: “Speechless to hear about Grayson. Guy went through so many ups and downs to get to where he was.

“I suffered so much for his family and loved ones. My condolences and my most sincere sympathies.

Murray turned professional in 2015 before winning twice on the PGA Tour, capturing his first title in 2017 at the Barbasol Championship, when he was just 24 years old. His second and final title came in January in Hawaii.
