Luka Doncic’s 50 points propel Mavericks past struggling Suns

The Phoenix Suns fell to the Dallas Mavericks, 128-114, in a Christmas game at the Footprint Center that saw Luka Doncic dominate with 50 points.

It was the third straight loss for the struggling Suns, who have lost nine of their last 12 games. The Suns’ record fell below .500, to 14-15. The team hadn’t been below .500 since Nov. 15, when it began a season-high seven-game winning streak against Minnesota.

In addition to his Dallas-high 50 points, Doncic added 15 assists and six rebounds in the win.

Doncic’s teammates, Derek Lively II, dominated the paint by scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, and former Suns forward Derrick Jones Jr. had 23 points.
