Luka Doncic press conference interrupted by apparent sex noises
Luka Doncic froze when his press conference was interrupted by what sounded like sexual noises after Game 2 of the Mavericks-Thunder second-round playoff series.
The Mavericks’ All-NBA guard stopped talking mid-explanation about his team’s energy and widened his eyes at the unexpected moment.
It sounded like a high-pitched female voice moaning for a few seconds, then it stopped.
Doncic, 25, then lowered his head and covered his face with his hand while laughing.
“Okay, uh, let’s move on,” one reporter said as others at the news conference laughed.
“I hope it’s not live,” Doncic said.
Things evolved after that and the five-time All-Star explained what kept him going during the Mavericks’ 119-110 victory over Oklahoma City.
“It was one of the hardest games I’ve ever had to play,” Doncic said after Dallas evened the series at 1-1.
Doncic, who is dealing with a sprained right knee, finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists after a shooting slump in the opener.
He scored or assisted on 24 of Dallas’ 36 points in the first quarter.
Mavericks forward PJ Washington scored 19 of his 29 points in the first half and had 11 rebounds and four assists.
Doncic and Washington became the first duo in NBA history with 25 points, including five three-pointers, and 10 rebounds in a playoff game, according to ESPN statistics.
Mavericks forward Tim Hardaway Jr. finished with 17 points in the Game 2 victory.
This was OKC’s first loss in the 2024 NBA playoffs.
The Mavericks host the Thunder for Game 3 in Dallas on Saturday.
