The model Lucy Markovic, who became famous on “Australia Next Top Model”, and then walked tracks for Armani and Versace, died at the age of 27.
His agency, Elite Model Management, announced its death via social media on Thursday, saying that it had struggled against a rare cerebral condition. A message confirming that his death was also published in Markovic’s official stories, just hours after an article announced that she was “fighting for her life”.
The declaration of Elite Model Management continued to call Markovic “a brilliant light”, adding: “Modeling was one of Lucy’s dreams, and we are deeply honored to have been part of this trip with it,” he continued. “She brought elegance, strength and beauty to her work. But more than that, it has brought itself – its warmth, its laughter, its light. ”
Markovic was a teenager when she participated in the ninth season of “Australia Next Top Model”, a program based on “America’s Next Top Model” by Tyra Banks in 2015. She finished second, losing in the final against Brittany Beattie.
She then forged a successful modeling career, appearing in campaigns for brands like Versace and Victoria Beckham, and walkway for Oscar de la Renta, Bulgari, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana, among others. She also appeared in high -level magazines, including Marie Claire and various international editions of Vogue.

Three weeks ago, Markovic announced on Instagram that it would suffer surgery for arteriovenous brain malformation (AVM), a tangle of blood vessels that can cause brain damage and cerebral vascular accidents. She described malformation as “the size of a golf ball” and said that she had experienced crises.
The post revealed that she had struggled against the state for four years. He included a photo of her in the hospital, as well as an image of a brain scanner. “Emotion background at that time,” she wrote in legend. “Life is a trip and I’m ready for the next chapter.”
The tributes rose from all over the fashion world on Thursday, with a newly crowned model of the year Alex Consani among those who leave messages for Markovic on his Instagram account.
The Donatella Versace fashion icon, which is now an ambassador for the Versace chief brand, also used the platform to pay tribute to Markovic.
“I’m really sorry to hear the news on @lucymarkovicc,” wrote Versace, who resigned last month as creative director of his family label after 28 years. “Rest in peace beautiful girl.
