Ltt-Jaynagar Express derails near Nashik;  No casualties reported yet, rescue team rushes to spot

As many as 10 coaches of Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Jaynagar Antyodaya Express (11061) derailed on Sunday afternoon near Nashik, Maharashtra. The accident happened around 3:10 p.m. on a section between Lahavit and Devlali, according to the ANI news agency.

No casualties have been reported at this time and only one case of minor injury has been reported so far.

A few coaches of 11061 LTT-Jaynagar Express derailed on the downline, ANI tweeted.

“11061 LTT-Jaynagar Express derailment near Nashik | Some coaches derailed. No fatalities, only minor injuries. Assistance number has been issued, also organized buses for stranded passengers being taken to Nashik. Works restoration, relief train on site,” tweeted Shivaji Sutar, head PRO Central Railway.

A crash rescue train and a medical van rushed to the scene, the Central Railroad’s CPRO said.
